Just by a show of hands, how many of you have ever told me that I remind you of someone you know? I’m guessing that I must have a familiar face. My face is not different than most. I’m pretty pale (my friends do call me Snow White from time to time, which I’ll accept since you know I love my Disney Princesses), I have constantly-rosy cheeks (so rosy, it’s a little annoying–I can never wear blush), brown eyes and prominent brows. Think less Lily Collins, more Lucy Hale. That’s about right. Sounds pretty normal, right?
People always ask me if they know me from somewhere, or if I’m related to someone they know. It usually goes a little something like this:
Stranger: “OMG hey I know you!”
Me: “Oh, really?”
(At this point I’m trying to back out of this conversation because this honestly happens so often that it’s kind of frustrating)
Stranger: “Yes! I know you from somewhere but I just can’t place it. You look sooooo familiar.”
Me: *begins naming off places I’ve worked and went to school, etc etc etc*
Stranger: “Nope, none of that…but omg I feel like I definitely know you from somewhere!
I’m not being dramatic when I say that this happens at least once a month. One time in high school, a girl came into class on the first day of drama club and smacked me because she thought I was actually someone else. What is that even about?! We eventually ended up being best friends, but I was pretty weirded out about her for a few months after that, haha.
Are there a band of Christina doppelgängers roaming the United States? I’m not sure if I feel comfortable with that.
And of course when I run into people I actually know (and people who know me) it’s always a no-makeup day. Because that’s just the way life works! Don’t mind me, I’m just hiding my entire face behind my hair because I was TOO LAZY to put on tinted moisturizer and eyeliner this morning…there’s nothing to see here.
I know this is a shorty post but this was bugging me and I’m hoping by writing it all out, people will stop thinking that I look familiar and asking me weird questions. I’ll let you know if it works (it won’t work).
